A World is your own custom card game
Everything in YGOWB lives inside a World: a card pool, a Forbidden and Limited list, decks, rankings and a community. One World might be your friend group's homemade set. Another might be a fan-made archetype expansion, an anime-accurate format, or a classic 2002 card pool for nostalgia nights.
Shared card pool
Every card published in the World is available to every member. Nobody has to send files around.
You choose who joins
Invite only, approval required, or public. Invite friends with a link.
Open or curated
Let every member publish cards, or keep the owner and moderators in charge of what enters the pool.
Your own banlist
Forbid or limit any card. Decks are validated against the list before a match starts.
Free play or collect
Give everyone every card, or turn on a collection mode where players earn coins and open packs.

Start with classic cards if you like
Not ready to design a full set? Public classic Worlds already hold more than 1,800 cards released between 2000 and 2005, each with its real effect working. Join one, build a deck and get a feel for the simulator before you add your own creations.
Your custom cards and the classics run on exactly the same engine, under the same classic rules: Tribute, Fusion and Ritual Summons, five Monster Zones, no Synchro or later mechanics.
How to play custom cards online with friends
- Create a free account and a World. Pick a name and who may join.
- Make your cards. Use the Card Studio to build each card and its effect, then publish it to the World.
- Invite your friends. Share the invite link. They join and see the whole card pool.
- Everyone builds a deck. The deck editor validates size, copies and the World's banlist.
- Queue for an online match, or challenge a specific friend. Rock paper scissors decides who chooses the first turn, then it is a best of three.

Where can I play Yu-Gi-Oh with custom cards online?
On YGOWB. You make the cards in the Card Studio, publish them to a World, and everyone in that World can build decks from them and duel online. The rules are enforced automatically, including the effects of the custom cards.
How do my friends get my custom cards?
They join your World. A World is a shared card pool, so every card published there is available to every member. You can invite friends with a link, approve join requests, or open the World to everyone.
Can my friends make cards too?
Yes, the World owner decides. In an open World any member can publish cards. In a curated World the owner and moderators approve what goes into the pool.
Is there ranked play?
Each World has its own rankings, player profiles with win rates, and replays of recent duels. Online matches are best of three.
Does it cost anything?
No. YGOWB is free and runs in the browser on desktop and phones.
